Our services

The services we provide across London, and the teams behind them.

Our divisions

Every new member of staff starts in Ambulance Operations. The specialist divisions recruit from within the service.

  • Ambulance - OFS

    Ambulance Operations

The frontline division for paramedics and emergency responders. Paramedics handle a wide range of incidents; Emergency Responders attend calls focusing on injury responses, heal calls and less critical incidents. This is the only division you can apply to directly.

  • CD - Students Intake 06/2026

    Clinical Directorate

A sub-division of Ambulance Operations. It trains students, runs continued professional development sessions for current staff, and works with London's Air Ambulance to keep the service's scope of practice and medical documents accurate. Staff can become instructors.

  • London Ambulance Service crew and vehicles in game

    Fast Response Unit

A sub-division of Ambulance Operations with access to Rapid Response Vehicles and a Motorcycle Response Unit, so crews can respond to 999 calls faster than a standard ambulance. Emergency Responders and Paramedics can try out for it.

  • HART PRV - Greggs KES

    Hazardous Area Response Team

A specialised division responding to "hot zone" incidents, including chemical emergencies, rescues, traffic collisions and terrorist attacks. HART crews use extensive Personal Protection Equipment and need strong medical knowledge and a good activity record.

  • London Ambulance Service crew and vehicles in game

    London's Air Ambulance

Clinical Operations provides advanced treatment and care, including the Advanced Trauma Team, which specialises in critical care on HEMS missions. Flight Operations, run with London's Air Ambulance Charity, flies advanced helicopters to critical incidents.
